How We Got Here

Taking cues from professional development emphasis on effective listening skills at Sperry Corporation (now Unisys), Michael Gilbert began to research and adapt similar strategies for organizational leaders in the early 1980s.  Including listening skills into leadership preparation programs was followed by incorporating interaction skills, as described by the Process Communication Model®, by the mid-1990s.


Dr. Gilbert's former clients and students have repeatedly commented that learning about how to communicate more effectively has had a profound impact on their professional and personal lives.
