Educated at Northwestern University, Emory University, and the University of Georgia, Michael Gilbert has been an educator and trainer in listening and interaction strategies since 1984.​  He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Listening Association (ILA) in 2011 and named Outstanding Educator by the ILA in 2013. He was also recognized as one of the Top 25 Education Professors in Michigan in 2013.



Dr. Gilbert is a Certified Master Trainer of the Process Communication Model®, and a Certified Listening Professional (ILA). Also, he is Professor Emeritus of educational leadership at Central Michigan University.​
